Psychology Training Program

Each patient seen at ACNC is assigned to a Supervising Psychologist plus one of more doctoral students enrolled in an American Psychological Association (APA) credentialled training program for Clinical Psychology. The California Board of Psycholgy requires trainees to accrue 1500 hours of supervised clinical work—with at least one hour of supervision for every 10 hours of clinical activity.

Here at ACNC, we set a much higher training standard with all our trainees having a Supervising Psychologist 100%. This high standard of supervision (modelled on standards for physician training) ensures all families receive high quality assessment and diagnosis. More time with supervisors who are autism experts also makes our training program very competitive for matching with the best trainees each year.
